Discover Scuba Diving (PADI), called "Try Scuba" or "Try Dive" at other agencies, is a guided experience for people who have never breathed underwater. After a short briefing on basic skills and safety, a professional takes you on a shallow dive in a pool or sheltered water. It is not a certification, but it counts toward the Open Water course at many operators.
It is the lowest-commitment way to find out whether diving is for you, and it is available almost anywhere there is warm, accessible water.
