A registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit established in May 1996 to stabilize and protect the deteriorating shipwrecks of the Great Lakes region. Its membership of roughly 130 to 200 divers, historians, and authors carries out shipwreck buoy programs, stabilization projects, National Register nominations, and museum displays across the Great Lakes.
